At MaxAbility Therapy Services, we provide individualized therapy services to maximize abilities for all ages. We specialize in skill acquisition, physical mobility, and functional communication to help our clients achieve their highest level of function.
We provide therapy services in our two outpatient clinics as well as hospitals, Skilled Nursing Facilities, public and private schools, daycare centers, and homes.
Melody Charleson, OTR/L
President
Melody Charleson, OTR/L, CAPS is a licensed Occupational Therapist who holds dual licenses in the states of Iowa and Nebraska. Melody received her Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University in Omaha, NE in 1990.
She has spent most of her career working in adult and geriatric rehabilitation and is an Aging in Place Specialist. Melody Charleson joined the team at Rebecca Snyder Speech Services, P.C., as their first staff Occupational Therapist in 1998.
Melody was promoted to Director of Occupational and Physical Therapy Services in 2004; developing the Occupational and Physical Therapy services at Rebecca Snyder Speech Services.
In 2009, Melody Charleson became the President of the company and the company name was changed to Snyder Charleson Therapy Services to more accurately reflect the evolution of the company to a multi-disciplinary therapy provider.
In 2023, the company became MaxAbility Therapy Services to demonstrate the dedication to providing therapy services for ALL ages.
Rebecca Snyder, MA, CCC-SLP
Founder & Vice President
Rebecca Snyder, MA, CCC-SLP, is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist who holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence as well as dual licenses in the states of Iowa and Nebraska.
Rebecca received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Iowa at Iowa City. She began her career almost 40 years ago as a Speech and Hearing Therapist at University of Iowa Hospital. She then went on to practice in Iowa in an educational setting.
In 1987, Rebecca founded Rebecca Snyder Speech Services, P.C. which is a private practice in Nebraska and Western Iowa where she contracted Speech Therapy Services to the continuum of healthcare settings as well as private and school based settings.
Rebecca has received specialty training as one of 140 therapists in the United States to evaluate and fit the Speech Easy Fluency Device for persons who stutter. Rebecca is also specially trained in Myo-functional therapy techniques as developed at the Institute for Myo-functional Therapy, Coral Gables, Florida.
